No December Meeting

We walked through the Flex 2 Essential Training DVD thanks to Lynda.com. On Friday, November 10th, 2006. The meeting was held from 2pm to 4pm at BKR Studio's 110 East Madison Street, South Bend IN 46601.

Flash Remoting is used as a communication bridge between the Flash Player and ColdFusion. On Saturday, October 14th, Brian Rideout from BKR Studios will demo some applications written by BKR Studios using ColdFusion and Flash Remoting. We met again on Saturday, April 22th, 2006 from 10am to noon at NIESC. Jerry, Betty, Josh, and Dan enjoyed the Flash Professional 8 Total Training DVD.

We met again on Saturday, March 18th, 2006 from 10am to noon at NIESC. Jerry, Barbara, and Sue enjoyed the Flash Professional 8 Total Training DVD.

We met again on Saturday, February 18th, 2006 from 10am to noon at NIESC. Richard and Brian enjoyed the Flash Professional 8 Total Training DVD.

We met again on Saturday, January 21st, 2006 from 10am to noon at NIESC. NINMUG focused on the new Adobe acquisition of Macromedia and also had a "Meeting in a Box" Adobe Photoshop meeting! We ate candy and learned about Photoshop CS2 and Illustrator. We gave away free books and discussed things like color schemes and other digital photography topics. Dan and Barbara enjoyed the 2005 Boston Photoshop conference with me.

We met again on Saturday, November 19th, 2005. (There was no October NINMUG meeting, due to MAX). NINMUG (like Macromedia) is in a state of flux, we ended up focusing on XML in Dreamweaver.

Saturday, September 17th, 2005 MEETING.

The August NINMUG meeting was cancelled. At the September meeting, Richard Beavo covered Chapters 4 and 5 and Mary McDonald covered chapter 6 from the Macromedia Coldfusion MX 7 study guide. This was our first attempt at using Breeze at our meeting. We recorded 2 different sessions, the first with Richard chapters 4 and 5, the second with Mary, chapter 6.

Saturday, July 16th, 2005 MEETING. NINMUG began using a book titled Macromedia ColdFusion MX 7 Certified Developer Study Guide by Ben Forta. We are going to walk through this book in our meetings. Richard Beavos presented on Chapters 1 through 3 of the CFMX7 Study guide. See more about the book here... June meeting was cancelled due to the Certification Guide not being available yet so plans were mde to meet again on July 16th.

May meeting was cancelled due to a death in the User Group Manager's Family.

We did (or in some meetings intended to do:) hands on walk throughs of the tutorials from this book in our meetings. It focused on Fireworks, Dreamweaver and ColdFusion. On Saturday, August 21, 2004 NINMUG met and discussed future needed topics or problem resolutions for our group. After reviewing the user feedback on future meeting topics requested and realizing that our location makes it hard to attract speakers from outside our area, it was decided that our group would focus on the basics of web design by utilizing books we have in our library. One book in particular touches on requested items like CSS and Shopping Cart tutorials. We are going to focus on a book titled Web Design Complete Course by Joyce J. Evans. On Thursday, July 8, 2004 Ben Forta from Macromedia presented on ColdFusion MX 6.2(the next version code-named Blackstone) via Breeze. Ben discussed ColdFusion, Flash, Flex, and also provided a sneak peek of "Blackstone", the much-anticipated next release of ColdFusion. Our User Group participated in the Macromedia Worldwide User Group meeting held at NIESC at 6:00pm on Wednesday, May 19, 2004. This meeting featured some of Macromedia's Product Managers who showed never seen before sneaks on upcoming product releases. The meeting was broadcast to our User Group via Breeze Live.

On Saturday, April 17th, 2004 Greg Rewis from Macromedia presented on Using Cascading Stylesheets in Dreamweaver.

On Saturday, February 21, 2004 Jerry Henline from Vision It Now presented on Macromedia Central! Macromedia Central allows you to blend the best of the web with your desktop. See http://www.macromedia.com/software/central/ for more information. We also raffled off some cool stuff again. Sue K. won the Studio MX 2004 Pro software! Congratulations Sue!

We had a great meeting on Tuesday, January 13th, 2004 ur User Group hosted Macromedia's product manager Miriam Geller and engineer Tom Higgins via a Breeze Live presentation on January 13, 2004. The presentation will be technical in nature and will cover the above new features followed by a Q & A session. We had a great meeting on November 15th, 2003. Jerry Henline from Vision It Now spoke about securing ColdFusion / sql data with Dreamweaver MX. Jerry focused on binding data in Dreamweaver, setting user logon access, and password encryption. Thanks again to Jerry for speaking! We had a great meeting on October 18th, 2003. Jerry Henline from Vision It Now spoke about using Fireworks to create Dreamweaver templates, and create a data entry screen with searchable and sortable results page from a new database. Jerry walked through setting up an index page focusing on the graphic capabilities of Macromedia Fireworks MX. He then set up a Template in Dreamweaver MX, proceded to attach a database to the site and set up the framework of links from the website index page in Dreamweaver MX .

We had a great meeting on September 3rd, 2003. Macromedia User Groups hosted the first worldwide User Group event and will be showcasing the new MX 2004 products. There is a static tour as well as a hosted, Breeze presentation.
